Nintendo hasn’t had much luck with the Wii U as sales have lingered since launch compares to competiting systems. A lot of developers have walked away or ignored the system in preference of the others. In an attempt to promote the system, Nintendo has dropped the price by $50 for the Wii U Deluxe which seems to have helped a little.
Back in September following the price drop to $299 and the release of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, sales were up by 200% per NPD analyst Liam Callahan.
Nintendo still has a chance as they push to release titles quicker so that they have a vast selection for gamers to choose from, as well as the release of the new Nintendo 2DS handheld system. Even so, PlayStation 4 & Xbox One will probably take the prize this holiday season.
