Wii U gets a $50 price drop and 200% sales increase

Nintendo hasn’t had much luck with the Wii U as sales have lingered since launch compares to competiting systems. A lot of developers have walked away or ignored the system in preference of the others. In an attempt to promote the system, Nintendo has dropped the price by $50 for the Wii U Deluxe which seems to have helped a little.

Back in September following the price drop to $299 and the release of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, sales were up by 200% per NPD analyst Liam Callahan.

Nintendo still has a chance as they push to release titles quicker so that they have a vast selection for gamers to choose from, as well as the release of the new Nintendo 2DS handheld system. Even so, PlayStation 4Xbox One will probably take the prize this holiday season.
