The new Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console will be rolling out next month, and this means stores have been bracing for the pre-order madness as customers prepare to pounce on the chance at being one of the first to own one. This could quickly lead to a shortage of consoles depending on how well Nintendo is able to sort out manufacturing, distribution, and of course, tariffs.
Nintendo has opened up pre-orders in various locations globally (although, we are still waiting for Nintendo to launch its official pre-order here in the US), and stores are hit or miss when it comes to even listing the new console. But you might see availability or a new chance to pre-order ahead of time as these stores get a better idea of how much stock they can expect from Nintendo.
Currently, you can find the new console listed via a handful of retailers, like GameStop and Newegg. While certain retailers like Amazon, haven’t even bothered to list anything yet.
With tariffs and other affecting variables in the mix, the world is holding its breath when it comes to predicting how this will go. But at the end of the day, this is Nintendo. If anyone can figure this out, hopefully, it can.
The console will be officially launching on June 5th, 2025. It will feature an MSRP of $449.99 and $499.99 for a bundle that comes with Mario Kart World. This makes it one of the most expensive Nintendo consoles out there.
