Such a random topic, right? It is until you login into Amazon to leave a review about something you recently purchased, including some images to help show off what words can’t always describe–but then you find out there is no image upload option. This created a lot of commotion as Amazon customers were wondering if something was wrong with their accounts. Amazon responded to questions with vague answers and never responded for proper comment on why it had happened.
Well, Amazon customers can rejoice as they have added the feature back to their platform today, thus you can once again leave some visuals for your favorite products.
Until today, the feature was removed somewhere around March 23rd/24th, leaving the feature down for over a month. We saw a lot of chatter here as well when we had originally reported on it. It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that Amazon started responding to customers with an answer other than “we didn’t know” (and other similar comments by staff). Their official response was eventually formulated around COVID-19, claiming that it was for the safety of their employees (despite these same employees still having to approve the text portion of these reviews). They didn’t go into any more detail than that.
You were still able to leave videos from the product page (above the reviews), which wasn’t as straight forward for those who were used to doing it from the actual review page.
There is no word from Amazon if the feature is back for good or not.
