Online retail giant Amazon has made same-day delivery free for subscribers of Amazon Prime spending $35 or more, in a move to take things up a notch as competing companies begin to roll out similar programs. Currently the offer comes as a limited promotion, only available to subscribers who live in select cities. If all works out, hopefully they will roll it out to more or all Prime subscribers.

Other companies an retails are beginning to roll out Prime-like programs, including Wal-Mart and Google. As these hit the net, pressure will be applied to Amazon as that has been one of their biggest driving factors of traffic for them.
Amazon Prime is a subscription service available to shoppers for $99 a year that offers various benefits like free two-day shipping on all orders fulfilled by Amazon, free music streaming, free video streaming similar to Netflix, unlimited photo storage, early access to certain promotions, free ebook features and more.
So if you live in either of the select cities, it just got that much more worth it to you to have such a membership. Assuming of course you are as addicted to ordering on Amazon as I am.
