Netflix is working with Nintendo to develop a live-action series based on the “Legend of Zelda” video game franchise. One of the most popular names in Nintendo history (next to Mario), the franchise has also seen everything from cartoons (1989), toys, apparel, years of cosplay and so much more.
This news is based on intel received by the Wall Street Journal, who shared that Netflix is in the beginning stages of making the magic happen. Meanwhile fans are expressing both excitement and skepticism all over the internet.
I am hoping that Nintendo doesn’t allow the show to fall into a horrible void like the Marios Bros movie did back in 1993 (just as nasty as the He-Man movie that was attempted just before that in 1987). As a nostalgic fan myself, I too offer both forms of emotion as we wait to hear more from both companies.
