Amazon is making it easy for you to show thanks to your local Amazon drivers who bring your packages to your door each day. To celebrate the holiday season and help play down some of the stress that comes with it for its drivers, the company has created a way for your to instantly tip your driver using nothing but your voice. Best of all, it doesn’t cost you anything.
All you need is an Alexa-supported device in your home. If you get a delivery from an official Amazon driver (not USPS, UPS, FedEX, or any of the other companies) that typically drives an Amazon-branded vehicle (but not always). and you are pleased with the experience or feeling nice, just say “Alexa, thank my driver!” (as of December 7th).
This promotion extends to the first 1 million thank-yous received through Alexa, totally $5 million. Not only that, but the driver that gets the most from customers will be “rewarded with $10,000 and an additional $10,000 to their charity of choice”.
Amazon hit “15 billion Amazon packages delivered in the U.S.”, leading to the company creating this promotion. This is a unique opportunity to send thanks (or, at least make sure Amazon pays its drivers a little more for the stress they go through).
Now, if only they’d ring the doorbell or at least knock before running off after delivering something to your door. I’m sure that would be a faster way to rake up some of those thank-yous (hint hint, nudge nudge).
