Google has apparently been working on some new changes to its platform to increase its overall effectiveness and bring in additional traffic. This is something the company is always working on but this time there are some noticeable additions that peak on the radar.
One of these new updates it is working on is the expansion of its AI-driven system to not only add options for subtitles for uploaded videos but to actually dub videos with alternative languages as well using a service called Aloud. This news came from VidCon as the company said it was looking to offer the ability to dub videos in a matter of minutes using AI. The service would be free to users and would greatly expand the potential audience for these videos.
This is a fantastic idea and should lead to increased traffic for both the user and YouTube as a whole. Instead of having to read subtitles, the user will be able to just listen in another language. Starting with Spanish and Portuguese (more options coming soon). The option has already been released to a select number of YouTube creators and will likely prove to be quite popular if it works out.
In addition to this, the company is also apparently working on the ability to play games on the platform. An option that will be open to both computer and mobile users. If this information is true, it is currently in internal testing by employees and there is no official word from the company just yet. This also means there is no word on if this will be a feature hidden behind a subscription or if anyone could upload games to the public. Or if it will go anywhere or not.
