Recently, we discussed the AR.Drone and it’s uses for aerial footage. At the end of the review we briefly went over what seemed to be an even better option since it supported the option of sporting a GoPro from it’s frame vs a semi-HD built-in camera that the AR.Drone had. That option was the DJI Phantom Quadcopter. We still have yet to achieve the opportunity to sit down with one so thoroughly test it so we have only been able to go off of the discussions we have had with others who have. All of which proved to be much…

We recently discussed our review of LG’s 84-Inch Cinema 3D 4K Ultra HD TV, describing the breath taking quality that the TV delivered. For some however, the price is a little steep sitting at $16,999. For those who’s stomach turns at such a price, there is always the smaller alternative. The price has come down for the 84-Inch’s smaller siblings, coming just in time for the upcoming holidays. You can find the 55-Inch 4K model (55LA9700) for only $3,999 and the 65-Inch model (65LA9700) at a higher price of $5,999. For most, the 55-Inch TV would be the best deal when considering price…

We got the opportunity to sit down with the LG Electronics 84-Inch Cinema 3D 4K Ultra HD TV (84LM9600) today in a private showing and picked it apart. It was difficult not to let the perfect demonstration atmosphere throw us off (acoustically corrected room, perfect lighting, wonderful sound system and a fancy cologne in the air). We filtered out all the distractions and put our focus specifically on this LG unit so that we can bring you what it’s worth in intel! First, let’s look at some of the basic features! (we will go into detail at the end of…

We have recently matched our ears up to the new SB 120 TV Sound System by Klipsch. It is a soundbar-like solution for TV environments that either don’t support a large speaker setup  (i.e., smaller rooms) or for those who simply prefer to have a smaller foot print regardless of the room’s size. Unlike the other soundbar alternatives, this one is best described as a TV base or booster seat as the TV sits on top of the speaker vs the speaker sitting in front of it or on another shelf (given, you could still place this on another shelf…

The new VIZIO Co-Star LT Stream Player (Model ISV-B11) is a simplified solution to bringing apps to any HDTV that supports HDMI-HDCP connectivity. What makes this device so simple is that it brings exactly that, without the additional of Google TV. It basically turns any non-internet connected HDTV into a Smart TV (as long as it supports HDMI-HDCP connectivity). The device is very small and can fit easily behind the TV if it is mounted to a wall. This is good as it helps to minimize the amount of cables and clutter that is visible and keeps a clean looking installation. It…

GoPro has been making waves for awhile now with their amazingly durable mobile cameras. It was too hard not to write a review on them, so here you have it. The newest model, GoPro HERO3+ Black Edition, is nothing less than amazing. Take it underwater, on your bike, in the sky or send it to space…it will continue to deliver amazing videos to share after. We have used it around the office, on the road and during various recreational activities and have yet to lose interest in it. It doesn’t matter what sport your involved in, or what crazy outdoor hobby…

Author: Topher Kessler (c|net) Security company Intego recently found a new malware package for OS X, called OSX/Leverage.A, which appears to be yet another targeted command-and-control Trojan horse, this time with apparent associations with the Syrian Electronic Army; however, Apple has blocked its ability to run with an XProtect update only days after its discovery. The Trojan horse is distributed as an application disguised as a picture of two people kissing, presumably a scene from the television show “Leverage,” hence the name of the Trojan. When the Trojan’s installer is opened, it will open an embedded version of the image in…

Looking for a cheap easy solution for a small 32-inch LED TV? The Samsung 32-inch 720p 60Hz LED HDTV UN32EH4003) might be one of the best solutions you will find. Keep in mind, this is a very simple solution (so this review will be pretty quick). The picture quality is very good being just a 720p TV. Since the screen is only 32 inches, you are not going to notice a whole lot of difference switching to 1080 anyways (unless you’re a videophile). The quality is comparable to most 60Hz TVs on the market today and it helps that it is Samsung as they…

Move over Dick Tracy, now everyone has a shot at owning some pretty cool wrist tech! Well sort of. Samsung has released their new Galaxy Gear Smartwatch to accompany their already popular Galaxy phones. There are some ups and downs but let’s take a look at it from “outside of the box” (from all angles). Does it look cool on your wrist? Yes. It really does kind of give you that Dick Tracy (or Tony Stark) kind of feel when you look down at it. It feels very “techy” when wearing it and for the most part stylish (depends on…

Author: Sean Michael Kerner (eweek) Two weeks ago, Microsoft first warned its users that it was investigating public reports about a zero-day vulnerability in its Internet Explorer (IE) Web browser. It’s a vulnerability that still has not been patched in a full update and is now actively being exploited by attackers. There is a simple step however that enterprise users can take to mitigate the risk. Microsoft declined to provide any specific timing about when a full patch for the issue, now known as CVE-2013-3893, would be available. “We are aware of a limited number of targeted attacks; customers who…
