There is nothing like getting something in from 1MORE, as it typically feels like Christmas here (then again, it always feels like that when you get to test so many new things every week). That level of anticipation that follows as you wait out the burn-in process before you get to really take them for a spin. This time we have 1MORE’s Triple Driver On-Ear Headphones, an attempt at richer quality sound for their larger models, for those looking for a little more range in what they are listening to (a lot like their triple driver in-ear model).
Their construction consists of a mix of aluminum with some plastic, and comfortable padding all over. The design is typical for a pair of on/over-ear headphones with an adjustable band and muffs that can swivel to fit your head just right. The band is surrounded by soft padding draped with a thin layer of faux leather (at least it looks like faux leather–however, it’s advertised as leather so maybe I am wrong). They can fold up to fit nicely in their bag or case, and use a Y-split cable design so that the wire can hit each muff separately (which is removable when ready to store).
The padding really is comfortable, which is quite important if you plan on listening for long hours. As mentioned, the band is surrounded, so you have padding on the side that makes contact with your head as well as a thin layer across the top for added effect. The muff pads sit nicely on the ears and both are labeled left and right inside with big print, as well as small print on the inside of the band.
There isn’t an excessive amount of compression (they are loose fitting enough for comfort while not waiting to slip off, even during heavy motion). Weight of the headphones over-all is about average (they are the lightest on the market, but they aren’t heavy by any means). There is also minimal noise transference through the cable as it drags across your clothing.
The speakers inside practically sit right against your ears which is an odd sensation (when it comes to the low-end/bass mostly) that takes a little getting used to at first. You may find yourself listening at a slightly lower volume than normal because of this (which is better for your ears anyway). The low-end isn’t overpowering though, while providing a good amount to satisfy the ears with (yet still plenty to be had if you you crank the lows in the EQ of your device).

Highs are super crisp and really bring out the vocals in what you are listening to. They also help enhance the strings and brass of acoustic pieces. Because of this, it was a lot of fun absorbing bands like Beck, ‘Crosby, Stills & Nash’, and Dave Brubeck.
The mids seem to be missing a little something, so they aren’t perfect, but they are there. It’s difficult to describe for some reason (which is a problem that is hard for me to run into usually). Although the mids sound pretty good, I feel there needs to be more range for sure. Not to be mistaken though as these will beat out a lot of headphones when it comes to performance (within the price-range). However, I feel that something like Sennheiser’s Over-Ear Momentum headphones can bring a little more to the table (given, they are $50+ more in price) depending on the media you are playing.
1MORE does provide a burn-in tool to get you started with all of their headphones. Available for both iOS and Android, simply search for “1MORE Assistant” in the respective app market. Once you connect the headphones with the app open on your device, you create a profile for them and start the process. You might want to use a mobile device that doesn’t spend a lot of time in your pocket (in other words, other than your phone), as the burn-in process will take quite a bit of time. That being said, there is absolutely no requirement for you to do this. In fact, there is a lot of controversy on if burning-in your headphones even does anything at all (due a lack of scientific proof). It all comes down to “to each their own” really. Regardless, the option is there if you want it.
Inside of the box, you will find a Y-split cable to connect to both muffs and then your source device. There is also a 1/4-inch adapter, which you will almost always get with a pair of headphones like these. You will also find your typical documentation as well as a stick in case you want to show off your pride of owning a pair of 1MORE’s.
Tuned by Luca Bignardi
These headphones were tuned by Grammy award-winning sound engineer, Luca Bignardi. Luca is an Italian engineer who has been mixing albums for a handful of artists since 1979. He has his own recording studio and has worked with names like Andrea Bocelli. You can learn more about Luca in the following video or via his website here.
Our Conclusion
These sound great, with extremely crisp highs and detailed lows (with a lot of wiggle room in the lows depending on the EQ adjustment of your source device/media). A lot of our favorite tracks came out nicely using these and the only thing that wasn’t 100% was the mids (which seem to be missing just a little something). They are extremely comfortable on your head, and come with both a case and a bag, giving you options for how you’d like to store them. A great start for 1MORE when it comes to delivering a high-end pair of over-ear headphones. You can just imagine where they might go from here.
