Review: Klipsch GIG Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker

Klipsch GIG Speaker

7.5 / 10 stars

In a market packed with wireless Bluetooth speakers, Klipsch has released a new speaker the GIG) that competes with some of the best. It’s size is small and it’s sound is big which is exactly what you look for in a portable speaker. It produces very noticeable bass and the battery life is great.

It offers speakerphone functionality, line-in, Bluetooth, AptX, and NFC (Near Field Communication); allowing it to support a lot of the new mobile devices that feature support for these technologies.

The speaker comes with a outer shell that wraps around it and allows you to use it as a stand so that you can sit it up vertically. Klipsch points out that it also serves as an extra layer of protection for the speaker.

The Klipsch GIG comes as either black or white colors, but you can customize the outer shell/band with many other colors.

The battery life lasts up to 12 hours which is normal for good wireless solutions, and it features a built-in lithium-ion battery.

Really, when it comes down to it, this speaker falls within the “top 10” range. What might help you decide on this one vs a Sonos or Logitech would be the brand if you are a Klipsch fan (and…it’s cheaper than the Sonos). We wouldn’t call it the best choice since Bose’s SoundLink Mini falls within the same price and provides a better performance (normally, to get better performance from Bose usually includes spending a lot more), but it really does provide great sound and comes close. We decided to give it 7.5/10.

  1. Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion. I saw it in the store not too long ago and developed an interest in it. I read a few other reviews and came to this one. I wound up buying one and am very pleased with it. Actually, I am VERY please with it. Thanks 🙂
