This weekend began by leaving the office still wearing the new Tin Audio T3 In-Ear monitors. US Customs made sure that I didn’t have time to give them a good look and listen in the office this week so here’s another homework assignment completed:
Blue Boxes
Like the recently reviewed Tin Audio T2 Pro IEM: the T3 is a two-way system with each earpiece containing a 10mm Dynamic Driver paired with a Knowles balanced armature. These are easily seen through the window of the retail box.
Once opened the T3 IEM is nestled in a familiar styled bluebook carry case. Underneath the form-fitted foam lid, you will find a very lovely braided 5N eight-core oxygen-free copper plated silver cable with a 3.5mm gold plated jack on one end and two clearly labeled MMCX connectors which will easily snap into the left or right T3 earpiece. Each strand of the MMCX cable is individually coated then braided so the look is thick silver/gold cables. The Tin Audio T3 IEM earpieces have large size light gray memory foam eartips preinstalled and include an identical medium memory foam eartip set, small, medium, and large gray silicone eartips, and small, medium, and large black foam eartips. There’s also a multi-language instruction manual with the usual information and warnings. Let’s take them into the Listening room:
How Does it Feel?
You know me: I’m adventurous. Of course, I put the Tin Audio T3 IEM headphones through the paces: Multiple genres of amazing music blended with multiple platforms and apps on devices including but not limited to Android. iOS, or Amazon Kindle Fire. I listened to a lot of really great music to ensure the highest evaluation possible occurred. Let’s talk about the DD paired with a Knowles BA. Clarity, stereo imaging, and some extra crispy mid highs were exactly what I was expecting after testing out the Tin Audio T2 Pro IEM last month and I wasn’t disappointed. When listening to .wav files of dynamic classical music I heard great stereo imaging and balanced full-range sound. If you are looking for low-end heavy earbuds these are not the product for you. The Tin Audio T3 IEM are exactly that: clear, balanced full-range in-ear solutions at an entry-level price.

Final Thoughts
The Tin Audio T3 IEM are balanced two-way in-ear solutions at an entry-level price. The packaging is typical Tin Audio and this is probably the best-looking MMCX 5N cable I’ve seen in the past year. It actually looks like a nice gold rope necklace from a short distance. If you aren’t looking for the “BEATS” experience, but clarity, and balance between the dynamic driver and the Knowles balanced armature with crispy stereo imaging these are your solution. 9 out of 10 for the groovy MMCX cable, and a great balanced audio experience. I can’t wait to see the next offering from Tin Audio!
