First, I should tell you that I have my TV on a lot, but I am usually working on projects or something rather than actively watching it. I’m doing that right now as I write this! I am sometimes quite surprised by what is being advertised when I finally see a commercial that I have listened to many times! Since my tv is often my background noise having good clear sound is important to me and when I do sit down to watch a movie, space-filling sound truly enhances the experience!
The WoHome S11 Sound Bar is a solid choice for someone interested in a value-based soundbar. This one is fairly loud, about 105db. In an apartment, you may annoy the neighbors, but in a house, no one will complain. It has 2 low-frequency drivers + two full frequency drivers which deliver a nice clear sound with decent bass. I like the way it punches sound effects! This soundbar will deliver a richer home theatre experience. In addition, there are three sound modes: “Music”, “TV”, and “Movies” which you can choose on the remote. With the remote, you can also adjust the bass and treble. I found no way to connect this speaker to a universal remote so it does have to be controlled separately from your TV remote.
Size and Features
The WoHome S11 measures 38” L x 3” W x 4” H and weighs about 5.5lbs. It is wall-mountable or it has little rubber feet so you won’t get vibration if it sits on your TV console. This model works well with TVs between 40” to 75” although if your room supports a 75” perhaps the next model up would be more balanced. I mean come on, go for broke!
The input options consist of optical (which I am using), RCA, AUX, USB and Coaxial. All of which are located in a small panel on the back of the soundbar (right side if looking at it from the front). This is also where the power port is located. This soundbar also works with Bluetooth with up to 50ft in range. Walls in between drops the range. Bluetooth works well.
All of this makes the S11 pretty adaptable. I connected it to my PC for listening to music and it sounded great! It is easy to go back and forth from my TV to the PC with the input button on the remote. You can also play and pause your music and move between songs with the remote.
On the right side of the unit, you will find 4 buttons. Power, Mode select (BT, Optical, Aux, Line, USB), volume +, and volume -. They are labeled.
Conclusion
I like it! This is a good, solid soundbar with enough features to make it well worth the cost.
