Researchers at Princeton have come across a process where they can 3D print LEDs for just about anything. Something once not yet possible, they refer to them as Quantum Dot LEDs. So small, there really isn’t an end to what they could be applied to. The entire LED can be created using 3D printing without the need of any other technology for them to work.
Researchers believe they could be used for many kinds of future technology, such as a small contact lens with its own HUD (heads up display) or even bionic eye applications (in other future tech not yet available of course).
The options are literally endless. We could all become walking ads as the clothes we wear light up with our favorite designs or brands. Even better, something we talk a lot about here at the office and wait patiently for: LED wallpaper (allowing you to turn a wall of your house into anything you want).
The future is a wonderful place.
