Acer has joined forces with the company BIWIN to launch some new storage and memory products into the market licensed behind the company’s name, along with its subsidiary (Predator) line. This will result in a number of new items becoming available, likely sooner than later.
These products will include new SSDs such as the Acer FA100 Series NVMe SSDs (available from 128GB to 2TB in capacity), Acer SA100 SATA SSDs (available from 120GB to 1.92TB), Acer RE100 SSDs that will be a mix of SATA and M.2 options (between 128GB and 4TB), and Predator GM3500 NVMe SSDs (capacities pending). All of these covering everything the market for 2.5″ SATA, M.2 SATA, and M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0 (no PCIe 4.0 this round).
Acer-branded memory will cover the new Acer SD-100 series (from 4GB to 32GB a stick and 2666 up to 3200 MHz), and HT100 series (from 8TB to 32GB a stick and 2666 up to 3600 MHz). The Predator lines will feature a much more appealing design with their heatsinks, including the Predator Apollo series (with RGB lighting, XMP 2.0) and Talos series.
As mentioned, the release of these new products will likely be sooner than later (specific release dates for these products have not been shared just yet). Especially, with the lack of any PCIe 4.0 options on the NVMe side of things. They are going to want to get these out there before they become shadowed by everything else making its way to the market later this year.
Both Acer’s and Acer’s Preditor series of products can be found via just about every major retailer specializing in computer peripherals and parts. We may come back to this, later on, to offer some links. Else look for new content here as it develops.
