External drives continue to get smaller and faster as they attempt to catch up to internal NVMe solutions. All thanks to the continued enhancement of USB and TB technologies. In this case, it is USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 with the new ADATA SE880 External SSD.
The new SSD supports speeds of up to 2,000MB/s both read and write, allowing it to be a powerful external solution for enthusiasts, competitive gamers, and professionals. ADATA boasts that the size of the drive is smaller than an AirPods case, which also places it as one of the smallest options with such transfer capabilities.

Small enough to quickly shift attention to itself when in use, for sure. The drives appears to be larger than your standard thumb drive, but not by much. Meaning this will easily pack away into your pocket or bag without any concerns of space.
It will be available in capacities of both 500GB ($79 MSRP) and 1TB (Price TBD). Although at the moment, the 500GB model seems to be the only one available at this time. It will be available from Amazon and likely make its way to other retail options over time.
If we get our hands on one, we will have to see how well it stands up to its promised specs.
