AMD has announced the release date of their new flagship Ryzen 9 3950X processor, taking another stab at the processor war between them and Intel. The new processor is a beast, offering up to 4.7GHz and 16 cores, which is sure to turn heads.
It’s a never-ending war between the two companies and this looks to be a solid blow for AMD fans looking to get an edge on their favorite games. It should also prove to be quite a tool for the rendering of high-resolution graphics.
Just like any flagship, it is going to take a beast of a cooler to keep those temperatures down. AMD has launched a list of recommended coolers, recommending an AIO solution with a minimum 280mm radiator. They have covered a large number of models, but of course, we have a recommendation of our own. Our favorite for use with any flagship system is the amazing Noctua NH-D15 cooler, which can tame just about any beast at a solid price (and little to no noise). Of course many will swear on liquid cooling solutions all the same.
The new Ryzen 9 3950X processor will be launching later this month (November 25th), just in time for the holidays. It will retail for around $749, and you will likely see prices as high as $999 (specs available below).
