AOC has released their new Q2781PQ 27-in Quad HD (2560 x 1440) IPS monitor with a fancier version coming later (Q2781PQ) with Swarovski crystals featured on the backside (in case you need a little extra pop in your monitor as people walk by).
The new Q2781PQ monitor features a frameless design (not that any of the frameless designs are truly frameless) with slim AH-IPS panel and sleek stand. It also features Clear Vision, their upscaling engine that enhances standard graphics like a TV would. That backside features two HDMI ports, one DisplayPort and one VGA connection. It is currently available on Amazon for $349 (they had said the MSRP at launch would be $499, so I’d have to say the current price is much nicer).
There is no doubt that this monitor is going to look good to your eyes in design and I am sure the screen itself will look just as impressive. We just picked up a handful of the AOC I2777FQ IPS screens for around the office, which has resulted in excellent feedback from our graphics guys. Although they aren’t exactly a 1080p equivalent to the new QHD screen, I would say it comes decently close feature-wise (minus the extra resolution and brightness).
If this new monitor sounds like something that would fancy you yet seems to be missing something, you can wait around for the upcoming Q2781PS model. This one launches in a few months and will feature all of the same specs as the Q2781PQ, except the base will come in a rose-gold and frame–oops, I mean edge–as well as the back side will feature crystals from Swarovski. It will launch for around $599 or less. So if you prefer to get your Britney on, you could always take it that extra step further. Else, the Q2781PQ seems to be a good option for more people looking for a great resolution (and picture if it features the same quality as the I2777FQ) without spending the cash to go 4K–which just isn’t affordable for most consumers yet.
