Apple announced that they are adding over 70 new emoji to their iOS 12.1 beta previews, bringing new options for people with various hairstyles and situations, including gray or curly hair, and even bald (our Senior Editor will finally have more suitable options to share his personality with). The emoji will of course also include a number of new smiley faces and other categories such as food, animals, sports, and more.
You can find them in the new beta builds and will be available for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac as updates eventually roll out to iOS, macOS, and watchOS.

Apple seems to be making a point of covering just about everything they can when it comes to gender, ethnicity and so much more, making sure there is an emoji available for anyone’s needs, regardless of where they come from in the world. Eventually, we will have so many to choose from, you won’t be able to find anything within your emoji selection without making use of a search field (we are technically already there).
If you have no interest in using beta previews of Apple’s OS, you will have to wait a short bit until 12.1 rolls out to everyone officially. It should be rolling out later in the month (October). Apple is also working with the Unicode Consortium to add additional options for those with disabilities, hoping to offer something for this in 2019.
