During our exploration of the many floors and halls throughout CES 2025, we came across the Aurzen exhibit, where the company was demoing some of its latest models. One of them was a small compact projector that could easily fit in your pocket: the Aurzen Zip.
The Zip is a tri-fold projector that collapses like a folding phone and is close to the size of most phones if you unfold it flat. However, it isn’t meant to be flat since it is supposed to take on a Z-like shape so that it can act as its own stand, allowing you to project forward using virtually any angle. It has a built-in lithium battery that gives you around 90 minutes (1.5 hours) worth of watch time. Perfect for when on the go and you just want to enjoy a few episodes of something, a short to an average-length movie, or want to demonstrate something quickly.
At the booth, we ran into the most amazing Aurzen representative, who we shared a fantastic conversation with as she demonstrated its capabilities. Connecting it to your phone wirelessly, you are able to mirror your screen onto any flat surface (wall, ceiling, etc) that is nearby.
It supports MagSafe with various optional magnetic accessories, like a double-sided mount, and a charging stand so that you can extend the amount of time you get out of it while remaining wireless.
It isn’t the brightest image and the resolution is only 720p, reminding us a lot of some of the pico projectors that were popular not too many years ago. However, this one comes with a much smaller footprint and is truly portable thanks to its built-in battery. I’d say it does a lot for the little bit of space the company packed everything into.
Aurzen appears to be eyeing March 2025 for an official release date, after earning more than $200K from its Kickstarter campaign. Its Kickstarter page claims an MSRP of $399, but we’ve been hearing the price of $199 kicking around, which sounds much more reasonable given the specs. So hopefully, it will be the latter of the two prices.
You can find Aurzen products via places like Amazon and its official website.
