The Byte4 by Azulle was originally released with a fanless design (passive cooling). It was a fantastic model that got a lot of positive energy from us during testing. Not only did it have a great balance of performance, but the quiet fanless design made it great for so many tasks. However, not any task as sometimes you need a little better cooling than it had due to the powerful hardware inside. This is where the updated Azulle Byte4 with active cooling comes into play.
Active cooling is the opposite (of course). This means that it does have a fan inside to keep it cool. It may not be as quiet as its passive-cooled alternative, but it should result in better performance and the ability to operate within more aggressive environments (as hot as 130 degrees Fahrenheit).
With the same great performance with a cooler internal design (pun intended), active-cooled Byte4 can find a home in so many other commercial and industrial environments. Still perfect for digital signage and small workstation terminals.
It can already be found via a number of retail locations (links below) for an MSRP of $309.99. Some of which seem to have it on a slight sale as of writing this.
