Bose is currently accepting pre-orders for its latest soundbar, the Bose Smart Soundbar 600. A new soundbar with Dolby Atmos support, leading to big sound within a smaller footprint. It features a total of 5 transducers inside, including your typical three-channel experience (two side-firing, one center), as well as two top-firing that provide the height experience you get with Dolby Atmos.
The soundbar is only around 27-inches in length, but likely has quite the presence based on Bose’s track record. Not only that, but it also supports wireless connection to the Bose Bass Module 500 and Surround Speakers (both additional purchases/upgrades) for a full 5.1 + height-speaker experience.
Since Dolby Atmos is still limited in availability, it includes Bose’s TrueSpace technology that offers a virtual height speaker experience. Allowing users to get the most out of the speaker’s capabilities. This is something you don’t always find within soundbars and receivers, leading to a lack of experience within these height-speaker channels normally (and some users wondering if their height channels are even working). Thus it is nice to see the ability to get more use out of them through virtual means.
The new soundbar comes with an MSRP of $499 and will begin shipping on October 20th. As mentioned, the company is accepting pre-orders on its website now, allowing you to be one of the first to try one out for yourself.
