Bose has taken one of the world’s greatest noise-canceling headphone models out there and turned it into a gaming headset. They recently announced the Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset?, which is exactly that, and it is sure to raise some attention in the gaming industry.
If you have ever listened to a pair of Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones (review), you’d understand when we say “one of the best” as very few models have ever come close to the ANC performance (outside of Bose). Now, gamers will be able to take advantage of the same, resulting in excellent sound performance and the ability to literally tune everything around you out.
Basically, they took a pair of the headphones and added a detachable noise-rejecting microphone, as well as a desktop volume controller for your PC that also allows you to switch between mic options (in case you are a loud speaker in general or get a little too excited for the ears of your friends). That’s literally it. They seem to be the same headphones beyond that.
This also means that the headphones are simply stereo, so you won’t be getting any surround effects this round. However, you will get the amazing sound that the 35 II’s have to offer, which is borderline audiophile in ways.
They are Bluetooth and support consoles and other devices all the same (except for the volume controller accessory, which is PC-only). You get up to 40 hours of use on a single charge, and the price falls right into place with the headphones as well (comparatively speaking) at $329.
The headset begins shipping next month (October 13th), but you can pre-order it now (link/button available below).
