Corsair has launched a new keyboard and it is tapping into what has been making some of the newer Xbox controllers so popular. It is the new Corsair K70 MAX RGB Magnetic-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (featuring Hall Effect switches).
By switching over to the new switches, gamers are now able to set the actuation point of each key on the keyboard. Customizing it anywhere from 0.4mm to 3.6mm. This determines at what point a key press is going to be valid. You can even select two actions as the key is being pressed down (like a half press vs full press). Allowing you to create combos out of the keys (in case typing wasn’t already complicated enough).
Users can save up to 50 custom profiles directly to the keyboard for use in various applications (games). All stored within an internal 8MB of storage. Outside of the obviously RGB configurations, the keyboard also offers a number of other features like media controls, shortcuts, and more. Along with two sound dampening layers that allow you to soften keypresses and a palm rest that can easily be attached/detached as needed.
By switching to the new switches, this helps to not only add additional customizations to the keyboard, but enhances the reliability of the keys as well. Like no more accidental presses if you find yourself accidently touching certain keys during your favorite games.
It features an MSRP of $299 and should be making its way to store shelves soon. It shouldn’t be long before it pops up in places like the company’s Amazon store.
