This is the year for NVMe as PCIe 4.0 takes over the scene with blazing-fast speeds of (now) over 7,000 MBps. Corsair is one of the latest, launching its new latest MP600 Pro XT NVMe lineup covering 1TB-4TB capacities and likely causing a lot of drooling from both professionals and gamers alike.
The new line includes a 1TB (up to 7,100 read and 5,800 MB/s write – $199.99), 2TB (up to 7,100 read and 6,800 MB/s write – $399.99), and 4TB (up to 7,100 read and 6,800 MB/s write – $989.99) capacity options. All three of which offer speeds that take the user into the next generation of–well, everything.
Depending on the model, they deliver up to 1.2M IOPS (write) and up to to 1M IOPS (read), and all of them come with a huge heatsink to help brush away all that heat. Truly, a beast of an NVMe drive.
It’s exciting to see how far we have come in the last ten years and I can only imagine where we will be in another ten. For now, though, this is one of the best options you can get your hands on as a consumer, and these models are available right now from Corsair and making their way to popular retailers as we speak (some of which are open for orders already).
