Denon has announced the release date of their latest firmware for their premium network A/V receivers (AVRs) which includes DTS:X support. The new sound format has been growing rapidly in popularity and has been making its way to all of the latest and hottest receivers, opening up the support for object-based sound and rendering channel driven sound obsolete.
The firmware update applies to the following models: Denon’s AVR-X7200WA / AVR-X7200W (firmware releases January 28th, 2016), AVR-X6200W and AVR-X4200W (firmware for both will release on February 18th). Additional models will be supported later in 2016.
You still have a month or two (depending on the model) before you will be able to download the new firmware update, but you can not rest assured if you are sitting on one of the listed Denon models, that you will soon be able to experience the magic that is DTS:X sound.
