We have been using Windows 10 for over a month now. It didn’t quite catch on for us until the update containing Cortana was released. Now we seem to be a lot happier with it (it should be much better than Windows 8 once they work out all the bugs).
Cortana is quite useful to play with and should prove to be a solid tool for most users. However, just like smartphones, the “AI” isn’t always accurate with catching your words, which can prove to be challenging when she wants to be temperamental.
We found the OS to be slower than Windows 8 for the moment, but that’s nothing surprising coming from a technical preview. With the new update, additional bugs have been squashed out and they still have more to go until they supposedly end the technical preview in April (mid-April was the last we heard about it from Microsoft).
Interested in giving Windows 10 the test drive yourself? Snag the latest build (#10041) now and give it a whirl! Keep in mind, you should install it on a test machine, virtual system, or separate partition (not as your main OS, since it will expire eventually…again, most likely mid-April).
