Elgato has picked up a lot of steam in recent years thanks to its popular Stream Deck series (among other products) that allow the user to create custom shortcuts for all sorts of things. Let it be your favorite tools within your favorite video editing app or controlling camera views within OBS. These devices have found their way into so many professions and now the company has something new to place at your feet.
The new Stream Deck Pedal is a foot pedal with three options (three pedals) you can control with your foot. Each one can be assigned to perform various functions, allowing you to control games, applications, shortcuts, and more. They can also perform multiple actions as well (completely configurable by the user).
So if you are a streamer who doesn’t want their audience to see them pressing buttons to change cameras, screens, or anything else related to the content streaming, you can move your Stream Deck to the floor technically using this pedal. Use it to covertly switch between multiple camera angles without the audience ever knowing that you’re the magician pulling the strings.
The new pedal has a price tag of $89 and will likely make its way to online stores like Amazon shortly (there is limited availability at the moment). It’s a neat idea and would make for a powerful tool for many professionals or hobbyists. Although, it isn’t the first to hit the market. There have been options out there, like this triple foot pedal from a third party (which came out in 2017). So it isn’t a new idea, but it is new for Elgato at least and it will be comforting for those familiar with its products and software.
