Another brand that reaches to challenge the elements with a lineup of Bluetooth speakers that can withstand almost anything you throw at them. FUGOO offers a selection of three speakers, including the Style, the Sport and the Tough. All of which are water, snow and sand proof speakers; making sure you can take them with you, no matter the sport or destination you have in mind. Each model also offers 360 degree sound in up to eight built-in speakers (depending on the model).
The Tough model being able to also withstand shock on top of everything, is their most rugged in the lineup, which looks as though you can toss it into a raging river to find it in one piece by the time it reached the other side (assuming of course it doesn’t sink to the bottom nearly immediately).
These are just some of the latest in the waterproof world of portable speakers that have been flooding the market recently. Battery life and features have grown to a point where there isn’t a solution out there that won’t fit into your day’s needs or activities.
They also have a whole line of accessories to go with them. Including a wireless remote that is also waterproof, straps, mounts (bike, multi and strap) and more. They even sell the mounts in packs, just in case you can decide which one you need more than the other (kind of sounds a lot like the GoPro’s marketing techniques). There are also multiple color choices for the FUGOO Style, allowing you to swap out the “jacket” color if you just have to have choice for your days activities (match the color of your surfboard, jeep or…fingernails).
FUGOO announced a new “XL” lineup that will feature larger models of each, that will be hitting the stores some time this month. The models will be titled the same, only with XL respectfully added to the name, making them hard to miss.
We haven’t had the chance to sit down with one of these puppies just yet, but you never know what’s to come in the future. One of these would have worked out great when one of the teams did a shoot and demo last December in Lake Tahoe. A lot of snowboarding and other wild activities were had and I am sure they would have enjoyed including this in their tests.
Right now the XL models haven’t touched the market just yet, but you can get the regular models online. They range typically between $170-230 which is a little high, but if the sound quality proves to be just as good as their durability, than they should sell just fine.
