Mini PCs are a great way to get the job done when you don’t have a lot of space to work with when it comes to storing a giant bulky computer tower. Instead, you find a solution that meets all of the specs you need within a small tiny box. Companies like GEEKOM have been dishing them out over the last so many years, and one of its flagship options this year packs an Intel i9-12900H processor and some other pretty impressive perks.
Usually, mini PCs aren’t seen as a powerful solution for those looking to deeply multi-task or work on processor-intensive applications. Usually, they are meant for simple desktop solutions in homes or workstations when applied to business environments. But this one seems to want to do much more.
The processor is a few generations back (which isn’t uncommon for mini PC models), but it happens to be one of the faster options that 2021/2022 had to offer. With a total of 14 cores, this processor can provide up to 5GHz of raw performance, which is great for things like video editing.
Along with the processor, it also packs 32GB of DDR4 (3200) RAM and a 1TB Gen-4 NVMe SSD. Making sure it has what it takes to both multitask and move data around at lightning-fast speeds. The list of specs continues with Wi-Fi 6E, two USB4 ports (capable of up to 40Gbps), and a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port. Along with four USB Type-A ports (3x 3.2 Gen 2 and 1x USB 2.0), two HDMI 2.0 ports, a 3.5mm headset jack, and Bluetooth 5.2 for audio and devices.

The only thing it is missing is a video card, which no mini PC has to offer. Instead, it makes use of the on-board Intel Iris Xe graphics that the processor brings to the table. This means it won’t answer all your requests when it comes to video editing as the video card can sometimes play a huge role in this. It also means it still won’t replace a large gaming rig by any means. But it will be more than enough to playback just about any format of video you want up to 8K, making it great for media consumption and other relatable tasks.
However, thanks to the USB4 port, you can connect an eGPU solution to it to gain some added gaming capabilities. USB4 (Thunderbolt 3) isn’t quite perfect when it comes to eGPU connectivity, but it could still give you up to half the performance a GPU card has to offer.
With a price point of $699, it sounds like an incredibly powerful solution for such a small footprint. It is currently available via GEEKOM’s website as well as Amazon.
