The best of the best is only the best until something else comes out that is just a tad better. However, for now, Gigabyte has launched a new mini PC that conquers them all. Keep in mind that this is “PC” so it refers to the marker of mini Windows PCs and not so much competing with Apple.
So what makes it so powerful? One variable is the inclusion of 12th-gen Intel mobile processors with options climbing all the way to an i7 options (up to 12 cores). Which blows away the other mini PC options and then continues to do so with nearly all of the other features this series has to offer.
This includes the new USB4, along with six other USB ports (one USB-C and the rest USB-A) and a 2.5G Ethernet connection. The latter is something we have been so excited to see become more common on desktop motherboards as of recent (and one of the first times we’ve seen one included on a mini PC).
There are two HDMI 2.1 ports, Gen4 NVMe, and Wi-Fi 6E (it kind of feels like Christmas). You have the option of two different versions of the mini PC, including a slim and a tall. The tall allows for additional storage expansion inside with a 2.5″ SSD. There are a few other optional upgrades as well.
So yes, this is absolutely an incredible mini PC. Something Apple should fear (until it or someone else comes out with something better). It will be arriving sometime in the coming months (Q2 2022). Currently, there is no MSRP just yet, but you can be sure it won’t be cheap.
