Wouldn’t it be nice if you could combine your washing machine and dryer into one unit? Companies have been trying to do this for many years, which led to things like the double-stack units, but none of them truly combined everything into a standard size of one or the other—until now, at least, thanks to Hisense.
Part of me wanted to think that there was no way it would happen, though. This is one of those products that sounds great on paper, but watch, it won’t ever be released, and that will be the last we hear of it. However, the company says it will be coming later this year. This means that it isn’t just your typical concept. It means it has a working prototype (or multiple) that has achieved enough positive results to impress the decision-makers into wanting to run with it.
So, Hisense mentioned at CES 2025, that sometime this year, you should see this product launch, beating the other names to the punch. But it doesn’t just end there. With a unique product like this, it’s going to change how the entire cleaning process works.
It will feature advanced cleaning technology that ensures gentle care for specialty fabrics while achieving 99.99% bacterial removal. Using microbubbles to clean the fabrics inside, it deeply cleans without causing any added wear to the contents. It will even offer a rapid cleaning function that can both wash and dry a load of laundry in just 78 minutes.
Hisense says it features an auto-dosing system that manages detergent for up to 15 cycles per cartridge. And the use of a term like “cartridge”, likely means that it will require specialty soap products vs what you normally find in stores today. So this is the only area where questions will likely begin to form around efficiency in overall costs. Because if the soap costs more than what’s already on the market, you can bet it will penalize sales a bit.
The overall design of the combo washer/dryer offers a very retro-modern design with soft pastel colors within the line (based on what we’ve seen thus far). The company claims it will fit nicely into any room or laundry area, and will also be much quieter than your normal solutions.
No release information is available just yet, but again, it should be coming sometime this year. Beyond that, the company is still a bit tight-lipped about this until it is ready to determine its final price point (and likely work out whatever bugs or last-minute ideas there might be before a final public launch).
