It looks like HyperX is stepping up both their game and their catalog by adding a totally new category of product with a new USB microphone centered around online streaming. Popular for their gaming headsets and memory more than anything else HyperX has a wide variety of product (centered around gaming) that also includes mice, keyboards and more. However, with the ongoing popularity of vlogging, podcasting, live-streaming your games and more, you can’t cover the full spectrum without offering a good microphone solution that doesn’t require being tethered to a pair of headphones. It’s all about getting that broadcast quality from your living room now.
The new HyperX QuadCast USB Microphone appears to compete against the likes of Blue, Shure, Beyerdynamic and other familiar brands that are known for mics centered around those looking to get their streaming on with a professional sounding solution.
It offers a built-in anti-vibration shock mount and pop filter, multiple polar (4) pattern settings to choose from, built-in headphone jack for monitoring, and a touch-sensitive “tap-to-talk” mute button on top. Also, since it is coming from a company like HyperX, it has fancy built-in LED lighting to show your mute status with, so that you can easily tell when your voice is live.
