We had the pleasure of talking with Klipsch during the InfoComm show, centering our discussion around their upcoming Heritage Sound Bar that will be launching sometime this year. If you caught our story on their smaller smart speakers rocking the same design at CES this January (video can be found at the end of this story), you might find that these soundbars come with the same vintage design, and they take it further by giving you the chance to customize it to your needs.
They will come in two formats, including their Standard model, which covers 49.5-inches in length to match against most of your standard TV sizes in a home (based on consumer averages). This Standard model will be available in both Walnut and Black Ash. The second option, is the ability to customize your speaker to the size of your TV as well as certain needs. You can choose anywhere between 49.5 to 80-inches in length, which covers all of the possible consumer model sizes. That way, if you do have an 80-inch TV in your home, you will get audio that sounds just as big.
The custom models will support the option of moving a few things around, as well as flexibility on the back for mounting, depending on the spacing between the studs in your walls. Your color options are also opened up to multiple selections of wood grain and grill covers.
They are handmade just for you and right here in the USA (Hope, AR). It sounds like the entire process takes around four to six weeks from time of order to receiving your custom speaker. A little bit of a wait, however it will be well deserved in exchange for a quality product from a company like Klipsch. Good things come to those who wait.
You would be buying the product from local certified dealers who would be able to walk you through the process, options and prices for everything. They will be the one who actually sends the order into Klipsch to get things started with.
Pricing information is not solid just yet as the prices that are floating around at the moment are just predictions that haven’t finalized. However, you can plan to easily spend $2,500+ on the custom options, with the pricing coming down a little for the pre-made Standard model which would be always ready to ship (instead of a 4-6 week wait).
