Microsoft has been all over the place when it comes to what comes next. The company is supposed to be hard at work on the next-generation console (that may or may not be releasing some time in 2027), allowing the Xbox Series X/S consoles to tap out and give way to the next level of gaming technologies. But it doesn’t just stop there, as the company has also been working on various relationships with partner companies for alternative access scenarios for Xbox Game Pass titles.
Some of these alternatives include mobile handheld devices from companies like ASUS and MSI, as well as a partnership with Meta to release an Xbox-themed version of its VR headset. It will be in the form of what appears to be the Meta Quest 3S, only visually themed to take on the colors of the Xbox ecosystem of products. It will come with a few accessories, including a wireless Xbox controller and three months of Xbox Game Pass to get started with.
This relationship was originally hinted to back in April of 2024, where Meta spoke of the two companies looming together for this. Now, leaked images of the packaging have been circulating around social media, hinting that the headset might be launching soon. Some sources claim that it could be dropping tomorrow (June 24th). So you might want to keep tabs on the Meta Quest store on Amazon (and other marketplaces) to see what pops up.
