If you are a gamer that does everything in their power to limit the amount of latency they experience in their gaming (and either have no idea how to, or could care less about setting up your router to help), Linksys has an easy option for you.
A special version of their WRT32X model, the “WRT32XB” Linksys WRT Gaming WiFi Router is designed to be centered around your Xbox One. It does so by prioritizing traffic coming to and from the console. This way, when you game, everything else on the network gets second place in line. They claim to be able to reduce ping time by up to 65%.
The new router features Killer Network’s Killer Prioritization Engine and comes with everything you get with the normal WRT32X model. Of course, if you knew your way around a router, you could more than likely set it up to pull this off just fine by making use of your QOS settings (if your router features them). The price tag is just $20 higher than the normal WRT32X model ($249), so if you fancied the original and wouldn’t mind the user-friendly feature of not having to mess with anything to get these benefits out of it, it might just be an option for you. The price tag is a little high like most of your high throughput routers, but you typically get what you pay for when it comes to feeding an bandwidth-hungry home.
