From professionals in the audio industry to the smallest of podcasters/vloggers, just about everyone has heard of the Blue Microphones name (or just “Blue”). The company grew through the ranks quickly thanks to models like the Yeti and Snowball — USB solutions that quickly became popular with podcasters and vloggers looking for an easy and well-sounding solution for computer setups.
The company was originally founded in 1995, marking 28 years of business before getting the axe from Logitech who has made the decision to let that brand go. Logitech acquired the company in 2018 due to its popularity in the streaming community.
Now, Logitech is looking to bring that attention to its own name by absorbing the models into its Logitech G collection of products. So the products themselves won’t be going anywhere (in case you were worried). The company is simply nixing the “Blue” name. They are already listed as such on its website and the Blue Microphones site forwards there automatically.
So it’s official. The Blue name is no more and now rests in the history of audio companies that came and went, racking up many achievements along the way. Meanwhile, Logitech’s own portfolio of products will only be strengthened by this, now and in the future.
