It’s not every day that you see a mouse that is specifically launched for Apple Mac users. This is something that used to be a norm back when devices had proprietary connections that were different for Mac and PC users. But thanks to USB, you can use almost anything with anything. At least, until something like the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S for Mac comes along offering specific controls that are dialed in for Mac users.
So what makes this mouse special for Mac users specifically? Not much actually. This is simply part of a line of accessories coming from Logitech that are visually designed to look good with Mac. Or at least fit in with the typical design you’ll find with Mac setups.
It’s “optimized” for macOS and iPadOS, but at the end of the day, it is a configurable Bluetooth USB mouse that can be customized using the Logi Options+ app. You use the app to dial its functions in to work well with Mac by associating buttons to commonly used features. It makes use of its Flow feature to allow it to work between multiple Mac systems, and offers a number of modern features that make it intriguing.
One of these features include an 8K DPI sensor that allows it to be used on almost any surface, including glass (a minimum of 4mm thick glass per the specs). It also features Logitech’s “MagSpeed” electromagnetic scroll wheel that allows you to scroll up to 1000 lines a second.
As mentioned, it is a part of a line of products centered around the Mac general theme when it comes to visual design and materials. It retails for $79.99 (MSRP) and is currently available right now from Logitech, as well as certain retailers like Amazon. The company also has a regular version of the mouse for all operating systems (ie, Windows, Linux, Mac, Chrome, etc).
