Upgrading from one mobile device to another isn’t as unnerving as it could be thanks to various features that most modern mobile OS options feature. Like the ability to restore your information like messages, settings, and apps. This is something computers don’t have and they still won’t for an undetermined amount of time when it comes to general software. However, Windows 11 will soon offer the next best thing. The ability to restore apps.
It will include apps available specifically within the Microsoft Store, so it is hard to say if Android apps will at some point have this feature through the Amazon Appstore as well. I guess this would be up to Amazon more so than Microsoft.
The number of apps available within the Microsoft Store has increased over time and continues to do so with major names joining the game (finally). So it is no surprise that the feature to restore apps would be made available. Allowing a user to restore everything they had while allowing developers to maintain those connections. This, of course, doesn’t include the before-mentioned general software (software vs apps). But it is a step in the right direction.
The feature will be made available for Windows insiders at first and will eventually go public if Microsoft deems it successful.
