It’s obvious that Xbox One made it to the Christmas list of top tech gadgets for a reason. It, like it’s counterpart, is selling off the shelves and sold out in many stores. If you plan on picking one up for the holidays, its probably best that you try your best to snag it now before there is mad rush to fight over the “last one known to any shelf”. Even Walmart is sold out of the console.
Microsoft claims to have broken a record this time around, surpassing the total number of Xbox 360 sold when it launched.
Luckily for Microsoft (and no so much Sony), the Playstation 4 has been experiencing some troubles during launch with system failures which have earned it the “current” nickname of “Brickstation 4”. This may shift more of the spotlight over to the Xbox One as some fans attempt to avoid a bad investment until Sony has time to work on a solution.
Regardless of if PS4’s troubles help or not, the Xbox One is surely going to do amazing this Christmas and holiday season.
Microsoft’s Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Xbox, had a few words to share about the Xbox One’s launch:
“We are humbled and grateful for the excitement of Xbox fans around the world. Seeing thousands of excited fans lined up to get their Xbox One and their love for gaming was truly a special moment for everyone on the Xbox team. We are working hard to create more Xbox One consoles and look forward to fulfilling holiday gift wishes this season.”
The vote around the office leans heavily towards Xbox One (from the start) as we all love the benefits and quality of Xbox Live over Sony’s network. It’s just too bad they don’t offer cross-(self)platform support for multi-player (Xbox One users will not be able to play Call of Duty Ghosts with their friend if their friend is playing on an Xbox 360). Regardless, we think the Xbox One is going to have an amazing future and look forward to future game releases.
Like I mentioned though, if you want one, try not to hesitate. As soon as see one pop up as available…order it, as it will probably sell out fast. Your hesitation is someone else’s victory.
You can find the Xbox One at:
Amazon
Walmart
Gamestop
(note, it may be sold out at the moment at all of these places, so just keep trying back)
