Companies (like Netgear) have been rushing to the scene with new Wi-Fi 7 technologies these last few months, delivering lightning-fast solutions for both the home and business environments. Multi-gig speeds are now capable via wireless, just as they are wired. Allowing users to build out some of the most robust networks ever.
With so many new technologies hitting the market that put your connection to the test, these solutions will be answering a call like no other. Including breakthroughs in VR, AI, heavy cloud content such as Xbox Game Pass, and more. All within price points that users are familiar with (and some that are a bite more, focusing on commercial and enterprise needs).
Netgear’s new WBE750 Tri-Band PoE 10G Insight Manageable Wi-Fi 7 Access Point is one of the latter options, focusing on small businesses more than anything. While also bringing an option to enthusiast users looking for a little more complexity at home. Users who prefer to have a fully manageable system starting from their firewall all the way to every little access point or switch in the mix.
This one targets (competition-wise) some of the other options that have been popping up lately from companies like Zyxel. Keeping things within the sub-$1,000 range. Providing up to 18.4Gbps of total throughput for up to 600 concurrent devices at one time across all three bands (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz). Making for a powerful solution for wireless networks. Of course, it will require a hefty network behind it to support its specs. Including 10GbE PoE++ (39.0W consumption) coming from a supported switch (or switch/PoE++ adapter combo) for best performance.
As mentioned, it can be centrally controlled by software that is able to manage multiple devices from a single GUI. In this case, it is Netgear’s Insight Remote Cloud Management (subscription required). Allowing users to control every compatible device on their network from their browser. Of course, users can also opt to go subscription-free and just use its own built-in GUI instead.
It supports up to 8 individual SSIDs per band, making 24 total that users can make use of. So users can easily create independent networks for use by staff, guests, or even departments. Or for users at home, you can get creative by separating main, guests, kids, and more (not that a lot of home users will be opting to spend this kind of money).
Netgear isn’t displaying the price on its website as it wants customers to call in to be quoted. This allows the company to try building out an order into multiple products vs just the one. But the MSRP appears to be $700 (for the AP by itself) and it comes with 1-year of Netgear’s Insight service. Since it is by quote only at this time, it likely won’t be found via places like Amazon.
