Microsoft is revving up its engines for a major event in October as it plans to launch the next generation of multiple devices, including the new Surface Pro 4 tablet, two Lumia phones and even the Band 2 watch.
Windows 10 originally launched on July 29th to PC’s across the world, already downloaded to over 30 million PCs worldwide to-date. The additional platforms were to come next in future months, but Microsoft hadn’t shared when exactly that would be.
Now, sources are pouring in as Microsoft finally prepares to share these new upgrades with us, including new flagship phones that have been missing in the market for some time now since the launch of the Nokia Lumia 920 (given, they have released a handful of new devices since, but none of them acted as a game changer against the 920).
The two Lumia phones will include the new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL (kind of like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus). The specs for these phones have already been leaking around the net over the last few months and there are still no solid details on which cellular networks they will be centered around. Hopefully AT&T won’t be left out of the picture since I’ve been stuck to them over the years like glue. This could be a final variable in my staying with one network or bouncing around to follow the devices I love the most.
The Xbox One will be getting its upgrades as well in the coming months as it takes the step into the Windows 10 cloud of things. There is no mention if Microsoft plans to talk about this at all during this event, since it has its own spotlight in during the month of November.
Since the Band 2 will be included in the mix, it’s safe to assume that you can expect the original Band to fall in price real shortly. Keep an eye out on Amazon and the Microsoft Store for sales, especially on Black Friday. No information has ever been leaked in regards to the new Band 2, so there are no specs or images to share, but hopefully they challenge the Galaxy Gear collection a little this time around.
