Nintendo seems to be getting ready to give the Nintendo Switch an upgrade this Fall in order to keep up with the likes of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Although it won’t match up to the specs of these other systems, it will come with some fresh new options to keep users interested and strung along.
The most noticeable (that we know of so far) is a 7-inch Samsung OLED display for improved graphics. Not only that but an upgrade to its Nvidia graphics chip so that it can output 4K when docked and connected to a 4K TV or projector.
Full specifications are still yet to be seen as Nintendo continues to keep many of the details under wrap. Although with E3 coming up next month, we are likely to see more during the show or possibly before it as the company prepares its official announcements.
Rumors have suggested that Nintendo may be looking to up the price for this unit, leaning toward a “Pro” version of the Switch console. Meaning it may exist alongside the Switch and Switch Lite. There is no telling how chip shortages are going to affect the console, but it may be wise to prepare yourself for a rocky start as the company attempts to manufacture enough numbers to satisfy demand.
