Samsung released its latest NVMe into the world, offering up a PCIe 5.0 solution at a very competitive price point that aligns with current MSRPs within the same capacities. It is the new Samsung 990 EVO NVMe SSD.
The new EVO model is available in two sizes, including 1TB ($124.99 MSRP) and 2TB ($209.99 MSRP), giving consumers a break from the pricing of the Pro series. Bringing with it some of the usual generational enhancements. Including better performance and power efficiency.
It is a PCIe 5.0 drive series with support for both PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 interfaces. Thus they offer compatibility with all modern systems and offer read speeds up to 5,000 MB/s and write speeds up to 4,200 MB/s (you can find additional specifications listed below at the end). Making for some speedy drives at a reasonable price tag.
What makes it even better is that they are already on sale! Amazon has them for $99 and $159 currently. Best Buy also has them on sale at just $10 more. These numbers reflect the “current” prices at the time of writing this and can change at any moment.
