Hallelujah, if you have been holding out like I have for Samsung’s heavy-hitting S95D OLED series TVs, you are in luck! Ever since I first saw the previous-gen series (S95C) at CES in Las Vegas last year, I instantly fell in love with its amazing image quality. Then this year’s models (S95D) came out and it was the perfect TV (in my opinion) for just about everything. The only issue? It was just too expensive.
But this Black Friday, you can finally find the series at one of the best prices it has ever seen. Just breaking the bubble for me when it came to what I was willing to spend on it. The discount includes up to 26% off (depending on the model), which is a lot of a series that just doesn’t want to drop much at all. Likely because it still stands as one of the best options out there.
There are three different sizes in the series, including 55″, 65″, and a whopping 77″. The 55″ model is currently on sale for $1,897.99 (originally $2,400), while the 65″ model sees the best discount at $2,297.99 (originally $3,098) and is the one I jumped on finally. The largest of the three (77″) is going for $3,497.99 vs its original price of $4,397.99.
You likely won’t see better prices on these for another year or more and it likely won’t be much better unless the company can pull off a whopper of an upgrade at the next CES show.
I felt like a little kid (un)patiently waiting for the latest video game console to hit the shelves. Now it is on its way to me as we speak and I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas to come early. I knew it was going to drop in price, but I had originally predicted prices closer to Prime Day.
The only thing the S95D series is missing is Dolby Vision support, which I haven’t found to be an issue based on the demo experiences I have had with it. It is such a bright and vivid image that it only takes a few minutes to forget that Dolby Vision is an option. It supports OLED HDR Pro, HDR+, VRR, up to 144Hz refresh, excellent 4K upscaling, and Dolby Atmos sound.
