Recently we covered OWC’s USB Type-C (3.1) dock that helps expand your computer’s connectivity for both Mac, PC and more. It added so much flexibility to systems who don’t supply these connection natively and delivers it all pretty well. Now, OWC has begun shipping their new Thunderbolt 3 Dock, targeted for Mac users around the world, and offers to do all the same and then some.
The new TB 3 dock (model OWCTB3DK13PSL) delivers 13 ports of connectivity and total throughput of up to 40Gb/s, connecting to your laptop via a single Thunderbolt 3 connection. Anyone walking around with one of the latest Macbooks could easily see how useful this would immediately become. It instantly turns your laptop into a full computer once you dock it, making something like this ideal for home or office.
It has a lot going for it, bringing you everything you need to get your favorite peripherals connected, as well as a monitor (including one 5K or two 4K displays), internet connectivity and more. You get USB 3.1 and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, ethernet, mini displayport (with DisplayPort++ support), firewire 800, audio (digital and analog) as well as an SD card slot.
They aren’t the most affordable for all, since the hub will cost you $299 (whoa), but for those in need of all this connectivity, it could become a life saver. Available now, you can find them at places like Amazon
