Mark another check next to OWC’s name this week as they launched yet another interesting product. This time a product that can both provide you with an Ethernet port for that ultra-thin laptop of yours, while also give you a bit of a speed boost if you have a network capable of delivering speeds stronger than 1Gbps.
The new product is the new/improved OWC Thunderbolt 3 10Gb Ethernet Adapter. A perfect addon to the laptop docking station of your dreams (or computer). The new adapter supports 100Mbps, 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 5Gbps, and 10Gbps networks. Offering more than 900MB/s transfer speeds across Ethernet. You get Wake on LAN (WOL) support and auto-negotiation, as well as it being AVB ready for professional audio/video applications. Not too shabby!

Of course, it does require that you have an available TB3 port on your system as this one doesn’t offer a TB3 passthrough, which makes this perfect when multi-port hubs become available with the launch of Thunderbolt 4.
It also requires the use of Cat6 or better Ethernet cables to make sure you can capitalize on these faster speeds.
You can get your hands on one right now. They are listed with an MSRP of around $199, however, they are available currently for only $149 via OWC’s website here, making it the same price that their previous generation adapter is selling for.
