One of the many things launching at IFA 2025 in Berlin is the new Bridge Pro from Philips Hue. The smart lighting company has molded its new third-generation hub into an AI solution that takes smart lighting to the next level and enhances the Hue products you already have.
The new hub features everything you’d expect from a new-generation hub, including a faster processor, more memory, and of course, AI support. It can do much more, respond faster, handle far more Hue devices, and supports Wi-Fi.

One of the most talked about features is its new MotionAware, which evolves your current and future Philips Hue lights, turning them into motion sensors using RF sensing between the devices. A trick that isn’t immediately new to the world, but is definitely rare for the consumer industry (or to be seen in a functioning product and not a theoretical discussion). This technology, or the idea behind it, has been toyed with within the technology and security sectors and likely tapped into by Philips to turn it into a usable and welcomed solution for the smart home.
This technology can be easily used to enhance how our automations interact with us as we move around our spaces. Something you could accomplish already using motion and occupancy sensors, but that would require additional devices, whereas making use of the Hue devices you already have saves you that effort.
The new Philips Hue Bridge Pro can already be found via Amazon and select retailers, and features a price tag of $98.99.
