Once again, Plex is in the spotlight with new updates to its personal media server/streaming software as it continues to push toward being one of the most popular solutions out there. A few years ago, the company added the ability to skip intros within TV series in your collection. Now, it is making another big improvement that lets you skip the credits as well.
Not only does it let you skip the credits, but it lets you immediatly skip to a certain point. Specifically, letting the user skip ahead to any mid-credit or post-credit scenes. Allowing you to instantly check to see if there are any hidden scenes after your favorite Marvel movies (and other titles).
The feature is available for Plex Pass subscribers (or lifetime memberships) as one of the many perks for signing up. Personally, we always recommend the lifetime option as it is the smartest choice. Especially since there is a strong chance that you’ll be using the software for quite some time thanks to the bottomless list of features that come with it.
Of course, being a proud IATSE union member myself, I do find it a little hard to skip credits when watching movies since these credits properly give credit/respect to the many people that put a lot of hard work into the making of these movies. So maybe just do it for the movies you have already seen before and have already spent the time watching the credits scroll? While at the same time, I do know the shaking anticipation of what seems to be forever as they do make their way up the screen (I’m definitely a little conflicted).
Either way you look at it, this is a neat feature that many are likely going to find useful. I know I personally use the skip intro button all the time within Plex. Just like I would Netflix or any other service or software (although its the only personal software that I know that offers any of these features).
Obviously, to use this new feature, you will want to make sure your keep your Plex server updated to the latest version. That way, when the update rolls out, you will get it.
