Just in case Reolink’s latest Argo 3 Pro wasn’t interesting enough for your Reolink setup, the company has announced another model coming soon–the Reolink E1 Outdoor. A PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) model with a slightly better resolution than 2K (2560×1920 vs 2560×1440), built-in spotlight, 3x optical zoom, time-lapse features, and auto-tracking.
As you can see, it comes with a number of neat features. Although there is a balance to what you gain. Unlike the Argo 3 Pro, it is not completely wireless as it does need to be connected to power. However, it is wireless to your network over Wi-Fi (with the option of still going wired if you’d prefer).
Since it has the ability to auto-track someone walking across its view, this also means the spotlight will follow the subject (keeping them in the light) since the camera will pan/tilt in the process until it loses them. It has a 355-degree pan and 50-degree tilt, so you should get a good capture no matter where they are headed. It also has a built-in siren for an added level of deterrence (along with custom voice alerts). You’ll find more specs listed below.
Reolink hasn’t shared a specific release date just yet as it is still being finalized. However, they had been planning to launch it in Q2 2021, so you may see it land next month (June). You can find more information about the new E1 Outdoor via Reolink’s website here.
