RHA, a high-end audio (headphones) company based out of the UK has launched the world’s first pair of wireless planar in-ear headphones.
Typically when you think about planar magnetic headphones, the first thing that comes to mind (if you have any experience with them) is an over-ear style solution that is large in size and quite pricey. However, planar has slowly been making its way into in-ear solutions as well, and although their size typically isn’t bulky by any means, the price tag is one variable that sure hasn’t changed.

RHA felt it was time to take an additional step forward and combine planar with wireless. Thus came their new CL2 Planar Wireless In-Ear Headphones. These buds are actually normal planar earphones that can detach from their cable so you can swap it out. It comes with two regular wired cables, including a 3.5mm with twisted copper, and a 2.5mm twisted and silver coated cable. However when the time comes to go wireless, the buds can pop off and connect to a Bluetooth neckband. Now you have up to 12 hours of wireless use.
All of it folds away into a travel case and it comes with a handful of extra buds to get the right fit for your ears with. It also has an airplane adapter for when you are wired and traveling, and you also get a smaller pouch as an option to carry everything with as well.
The price tag however, is a whopping $899.95, so you better check on your savings. Naturally, these in-ears are targeted for audiophiles that have a huge budget to play with.
Currently the headphones are available for pre-order and will be shipping around the middle of next month (September). You can include yourself on the pre-order by clicking on the following button (if that kind of spending doesn’t scare you any).
